ComfortTouch PlusGarment Steamer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Normally I've had to rely on my iron when it comes to steaming clothes, but this is so much better. Its great that you can hang the clothes over the hanger and then steam. The whole thing is super sturdy and the head and hose have good reach. I love the purple colour too as it looks so vibrant out of the box. This is something that will get plenty of use as the ironing pile never seems to get smaller. There is a big water tank in the base, that detaches so you can fill it up easily at the sink and empty it when you're done. The power cord can be wrapped around the base for storage, and is about 2m long. The hose for the steaming head is really long, and there is no problem moving around the stand to get where you need to be. There is only one control, a big knob on the base. Turn it clockwise, and you get steam. The further you turn it, the more steam you get, and then winding it anti-clockwise all the way turns it off. It's a big unit, and although you can take it to pieces for storage you're really not going to want to. It's all click together and a bit of a faff to do, and you will inevitably lose bits. It's not heavy though (without water) and can be fitted in a cupboard or closet taking up only a bit more space than a traditional ironing board. All in all though, I'm pleased with it. It puts out a tremendous volume of steam, is easy to use, and is great for freshening up cupboard folded clothes, or de-wrinkling items that you would normally have to get dry cleaned. As a bonus, you can add drops of perfume into a little dispenser to add a scent to your clothes too. It's impossible to burn your items with this, so you can really blast away and get a good result without fear of over doing it like you would with a traditional iron. I found it took less than 5 minutes to make a shirt quite presentable, and can see this saving me a lot of time in the future. This is definitely a labour saver because for quick removal of creases you don't have to get the ironing board out, or warm up the iron. This is part of the furniture in the laundry room and sits very well because it takes up so little floor space. It can also slot into a cupboard next to the ironing board.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very unique piece of equipment to have in one’s possession. Straight to the point – it does what it says on the tin. Out of the box, it assembles and operates quite effortlessly, despite the extra think manual I’ve got quite a few suits, shirts and some light t-shirts that are tricky to iron out at home and which would most likely burn if I even attempted at home. Therefore, leaving me no option but to go to the local dry cleaners = £££ out of my pocket. Well, this wee baby allows to iron out any wrinkles in 30 seconds by hanging the clothes on their own hangers or using the inbuilt hanger. The only downside here is It doesn’t produce those crisp like folds you get on shirt sleeves/trousers A large water tank sits at the base which can be easily refilled or emptied depending on your use. Attached to this is a 2meter power cable which can be easily wrapped around the base. Added to this is a pretty generous hose allowing you maximum reach for any garments. Turning up the steam is easy – turn the knob clockwise for more steam and vice versa for less steam. As a small criticism here I would have preferred something like a trigger figure button to control the release of the steam. The whole unit is quite bulky, yes but on the plus side it does look sleek and modern. So far I am quite pleased with the steamer, although I am sure if for now, I am still treating it as a gimmick or an actual every day to use item. I’m leaning more towards the former.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the garment steamer several times and found it easy to use it took no more than 30 seconds to take the creases out of an item of clothing. I especially like the fact that you can choose whether or not to use the stand or your own hanger which is also easy to use just a quick turn of a knob. It is easy to refill with water and you can choose how much steam you want at a specific time. My only issue was that I you can't turn it off by the head but instead do it by the base but this isn't a major issue. I'm very pleased with the garment steamer overall.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this product for around a week or two and I am already impressed at the efficiency and performance of this product. Although this product may have seemed a bit gimmicky at first once I got used to using it to do my ironing I fell in love with how quickly it could tackle my regular weekly ironing pile. Compared to my regular ironing board it is a lot quicker and the flexhead of this product is a lot more efficient compared to my standard iron, due to the added flexibility and area of movement it gave me. The design is very aesthetically appealing, with the range of curves and other shapes giving it a visual edge over your everyday ironing board and thus making it more appealing for a buyer. The base helps to keep the product sturdy to prevent it from falling, and the fact that the product is standing means that it is a lot more space efficient and thus is much easier to use in tighter spaces and will be better for those living in smaller households. The hanger lock is also quite effective and helps to keep the clothes in place while ironing. One criticism I may have with the design is that it is made out of plastic and thus isn't sturdy at times which does cause the product to 'wobble' a bit, however this is a minor inconvenience but could still be solved by making the product out of metal instead, or possibly strengthen the plastic in some way or another. The MyEssence technology helps to refresh your clothing with your own chosen scents which is a little add on feature that works quite nicely and helps to really refresh your clothes. The assembly of the product was also quite good as well. I found it quite easy to assemble the pieces of the product together and this was done very easily without much hassle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Comfort Touch Plus garment steamer takes a bit of getting used too. The technique to get perfect clothing is different from what you will be used to using a conventional iron. Persevere - once you get comfortable using it, you’ll be packing up your old ironing board and leaving it at the back of a cupboard! The unit is large, being taller, but similar in area, to the size of an ironing board stored upright. And there’s no need to also store a separate iron, as the steamer head is an integral part of the appliance. The water container is large and so does not need to be refilled too often. There are 3 little containers you can use to add some fragrance. This is the only part of the appliance that gets a markdown from me, as I haven’t really felt it works when adding perfume. However, I have not yet tried adding essential oil, which may well be more successful. I have steamed all sorts of garments using the Comfort Touch Plus: shirts, blouses, skirts, trousers and dresses. All had that ‘just shop-bought’ look about them after ironing, with no hard creases where they are not meant to be. Delicate fabrics steam so beautifully, with no chance of damage using this method. Most of the time I didn’t bother using the glove, but just occasionally it came in handy to help hold the fabric while steaming more tricky areas. Do take care though – hot steam can really hurt. I did try steaming duvet covers and bed sheets. On the bed, applying the steam head horizontally does not work – you just end up with very wet sheets. However, draping the fabric over a clothes horse next to the Comfort Touch Plus and steaming vertically actually produced pretty good results – and in a fraction of the time it takes to iron sheets. Result!! So my old iron and ironing board have been put away. I don’t need them at all now and will not be sad to see them go. I cannot recommend this appliance highly enough. The Comfort Touch Plus does a great job, is fun to use, usually takes less time to produce a perfectly ironed garment – and with no chance of burning that favourite outfit. Thoroughly, thoroughly recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Firstly, I’d like to say I hate ironing shirts and dresses. I wear dresses that don’t need ironing and the rest hangs in my wardrobe forever. And one day this beautiful invention was delivered. I’m writing this review after steaming a number of shirts and tops. The assembly is really easy. You just have to follow a simple instructions on the manual which takes about 5-10 mins. Then fill water in the base. And switch the thing on. There is a controller in the base. The water tank stores enough water for 6-7 shirts and it doesn’t use a lot of water also I’m hoping maintenance is easy but have to do de-calc process atleast once a month. I love this Philips comfort plus steamer for many reasons. 1. It’s very easy to assemble 2. Steam comes really fast. Don’t have to wait for a long time. 3. creases goes away easily 4. The steam can be adjusted in various levels 5. Steam blasts out hot and is impressive. But it won’t burn anything 6. The back board is steady and gives a strong support 7. Doesn’t take a lot of space. 8. Easy to hang cloths on the knob. 9. Can add fragrance via the infuser which is an added bonus Just few things to know is that you gotta be careful with the other hand that doesn’t hold the steamer head. Also, the control is in the base and you have to bend down every time you need to change the setting. And it can’t replace the conventional iron but definitely very useful to anyone who hates ironing. Other than that, this is one of the devices you wonder how you managed without it all these days. One of Philips’ best invention and I’m so grateful. I recommend it for everyone. Personally I’m a big fan and I’m sure you won’t regret the decision to buy it.
