The food I prepared with my Philips Air Cooker is not as expected

Published on 01 March 2024
If you cook your own dish or follow a HomeID recipe and the result is not as expected, there could be various reasons.

  • The cooking results of your Air Cooker can vary when cooking more or less than the recommended food amount. Therefore you have to adjust the cooking time accordingly.
  • The cooking results can also be influenced by the type of ingredients that you use, e.g. fresh vs. frozen ingredients. This also requires adjusting the cooking time accordingly.
  • The HomeID recipes were developed to meet the widest range of tastes possible. If the cooking result is not as expected, please adjust the cooking time according to your personal preferences.
  • Make sure you used the “Roast” Program. No browning will appear when using AirSteam or Steam Program.
  • Avoid cooking too much food at one time. Smaller portions are browned more evenly.
  • Prolong the cooking time if the food is not browned to your personal preference. Please be aware, prolonging cooking times might have influence on the texture of your food.
  • For a more browned result use marinade.
  • If you are baking or roasting and you experience uneven results, you can take out all used accessories half-way through the cooking, turn them 180°C and insert them again. This can also improve the evenness of the baking result.
  • For optimal browning on the bottom of your cake or bread, we advise you to place your cooking pot in the basket and use it together with the bottom tray.
  • For an optimal baking result, we advise preheating the device.
  • When you are cooking your vegetables and using your basket, do not exceed basket height when filling. Cooking times might have to be adjusted according to your personal preference.
  • It is crucial to follow recipe instructions, especially when incorporating the cake batter. The time between pouring the cake batter into the cooking pot and starting baking shall be as minimum as possible.
  • Make sure you use “Steam” program for your buns / dumpling.
  • For a better result, coat your fresh buns/dumplings with water or oil prior too cooking.
  • For optimal results, convenience buns/dumplings are advised to be dethawed before cooking and same approach as for fresh buns/dumplings should be followed.
  • If your buns / dumplings should have a more shiny and dry appearance and they should not soak sauce, do not coat them prior to cooking.
As several accessories are available for your Air Cooker, check if you have used the right accessory for cooking your dish or NutriU recipe.
