My Philips Air Cooker makes a strange sound

Published on 06 March 2023
Most of the time, if your Philips Air Cooker produces strange sounds, these are coming from empty running water pump. Please check the following.

Always fill the water tank to the MAX indication.

We recommend using normal tap water or bottled mineral water. Do not use filtered or purified water as the decreased content of dissolved solids might not allow the water level sensor to work properly.

Please, always check if the water tank is fully applied on the appliance in the correct position.
If the water tank is not fully applied or empty on the device, you could hear a noise produced from the pump.

During first use, you could hear a short pump noise. This is normal when using your Air Cooker for the first time. If it continues, please check if you positioned the tank correctly.

It is normal to hear a loud sound when there is no more water in the tank. The pump will not be damaged if this condition will not be permanent.

When cooking already for a longer time the chamber is already filled with steam that will take several minutes to escape from the steam exhaust. Even if the water tank gets empty and the appliance run dry for a couple of minutes, the cooking result will not be hampered since the temperature and air circulation is kept.
If this happens, do not pause the cooking process, simply fill in the water in the tank till the maximum capacity.
