My Philips Turkish Coffee Machine’s coffee has bad or no foam

Published on 06 November 2023
If the coffee from your Philips Turkish Coffee Machine is not as foamy as you would expect, find possible causes and solutions below.

For better, more foamy Turkish Coffee, stir the coffee, water, and sugar mixture for 20 to 30 seconds before cooking the coffee.

Do not use coarsely ground coffee, or coffee beans. Only use finely ground Turkish Coffee for your Philips Turkish Coffee Machine.

Ensure you apply the right amount of water, coffee, and sugar.
Always use ±70ml water per cup (max of 4 cups). Regarding adding sugar and sweetness, we advise the dosage below, but of course, you can adjust that according to your preference.
Without sugar: One spoon of Turkish coffee.
With little sugar: One spoon of Turkish coffee. Half a teaspoon of granulated sugar or half a sugar cube.
With medium sugar: One spoon of Turkish coffee. One teaspoon of granulated sugar or one sugar cube.
Sweet: One spoon of Turkish coffee. Two teaspoons of granulated sugar or two sugar cubes
Limescale or coffee residues could build up inside your coffee jug and cause it to decrease the foam of your coffee. To clean your coffee jug, you can use a soft sponge with washing liquid. Please ensure you do not immerse the jug in water or place it in the dishwasher.
To remove limescale and black stains, pour one cup of heated water into the coffee jug and half a cup of vinegar or lemon juice. Let it sit for 30 to 60 minutes, then rinse the jug with fresh water. If some stains are still there, please repeat the cleaning process for a second time.
